Greenhouse gases don’t see borders. That is why Europe has set up the „Integrated Carbon Observation System“ (ICOS). ICOS is a network of continuous, high-quality and standardized greenhouse gas measurements over Europe, thereby creating a European overall picture.
The ICOS general assembly has now certified the UBA-Lab at the Environmental Research Station Schneefernerhaus as one of 80 greenhouse gas stations, meeting the high quality standards required in the network.
