is accessible all year long
offers the transport of heavy material

Arrival via Seilbahn Zugspitze starting at Eibsee

Adress for your navigation device (Zugspitz Seilbahn): Am Eibsee 6, 82491 Grainau

Parking at the cable car station is free of charge during wintertime and in sommertime chargeable.

Please inform the lokal parking attendent if you stay overnight.

Schedule cable car Zugspitze

Go up with the cable car Zusgpitze to the Zugspitze Summit and take the 'Gletscherbahn' cable car down to the Zugspitzplatt (30 min).

Further to the UFS take the Forschungsseilbahn, directely located where the Gletscherbahn arrives.

Please be aware that there might be longer waiting periods during rush hour.

Arrival with cogwheel train

Schedule of cogwheel train

By train of car to Garmisch-Partenkirchen to 'Zugspitzbahnhof' (close to train station) or to one of the cogwheel stations in either Grainau or Eibsee.

Then further with the cogwheel to the Zugspitzplatt.

(Duration Eibsee ->Zugspitzplatt ca. 45 Min.)

At is possible to switch from the cogwheel to the cable car Zugspitze at Eibsee station.

Further to the UFS take the 'Forschungsseilbahn'. Directely located where the Gletscherbahn arrives.

After arrival at the Zugspitzplatt please contact the UFS staff via 08821/924101

Please be aware of longer waiting hours at the cable car Zugspitze during rush hour.

Forschungsbahn

In general there is one round trip (ascent and descent) per person and per day at UFS included in the price.

Addtional transport will be invoiced seperately.

Operating times:

During working days Mo. - Fr. 8:00 am - 04:00 pm.

Special trips are possible in agreement with the UFS staff
